Hello! My name is Owen Geiss! I am a Mechanical Engineering student at Colorado State University. I am a Walter Scott Scholar and I participate in undergraduate research in the Few Cycle Laser Laboratory. My hobbies include fishing, gaming, game design, and I recently have started photography. I am also the Manufacturing lead of Aggies Offroad Racing and Development where we build an offroad vehicle to participate in an intercollegiate competition. I also mentor at Webber Middle School for a program called Webber Aeronautics Ventures in Education. This program lets students design and execute a 2 day simulated space mission. I also volunteer for The City of Fort Collins Conflict Transformation Works as a Peer and Community representative for the Restorative Justice program.
Lasers are quickly becoming the most important technology humanity is developing. With lasers we aim to understand the fundamentals of the universe by creating environments only seen in the most extreme environments, all within the safety of Earth.
We are a team comprised of college students that work to compete in the Baja SAE collegiate series. Baja SAE is a competition that tasks students to design and build an single seat offroad vehicle. This vehicle is then tested at of the international competitions, with the main event being a 4-hour endurance race.
